General and Special Education Teachers 3-12, Literacy Coaches, Teacher Consultants, Speech-Language Pathologists, and other MTSS Team Members planning to teach this program.
This two-day workshop will prepare you to teach Corrective Reading Decoding and Corrective Reading Comprehension. Corrective Reading is a comprehensive intensive intervention program designed for students in Grades 3-12. It targets students who are reading two or more years below grade level in general or special education classrooms.
The three essential goals of Corrective Reading are increasing reading accuracy (decoding), developing reading fluency, and building reading comprehension. This research-validated intervention program delivers tightly-sequenced, carefully planned lessons that give struggling students the structure and practice necessary to become skilled, fluent readers and better learners.
