Target Audience: Elementary and Middle School Social Studies Teachers

Facilitated by MC3 Grade 6 World Geography course curriculum author Carol Egbo, this series is designed to introduce teachers to the MC3 organizational structure and methods for teaching the Michigan social studies content expectations for sixth grade.

These materials situate student learning in a global context as students explore social studies concepts and issues.

Through these sessions teachers will deepen their own content knowledge, examine lessons demonstrating best practices in the teaching of social studies. A special focus will be placed on spatial thinking skills and curriculum to address the shift to grade 6 as a world geography course in Michigan.
