Assistive Technology Leader 4-day Training for NEW AT Reps.

NOTE: Only staff with approval from their Special Education Director can sign up for the series.

The Assistive Technology Leader 5-day Training will focus on teaching NEW leaders the process for determining appropriate assistive technology strategies, tools and services for students. Training will include an in-depth look at the MISD Assistive Technology process and guidebook and an overview of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Response to Intervention (RtI) and their relationship to Assistive Technology. AT leaders will become familiar with the materials available in the MISD collection and the process for accessing them for your district. Training will focus on tools and strategies for using assistive technology to support all areas of the curriculum including literacy, math, science, communication and computer access.

You will leave the training with the ability to guide student-centered teams through the process of considering and implementing assistive technology services for students in your district, and an opportunity to earn your AT Leader Credential.

Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. each day.

Dates for the upcoming training are:

October 1, 2019: 8:30 - 3:00 pm
October 21, 2019: 8:30 - 3:00 pm
November 12, 2019: 8:30 - 3:00 pm
December 18, 2019: 8:30 - 3:00 pm

(Representatives MUST attend all 4 days.)
