Target Audience: HS and MS teachers in the following areas: Science, English, Social Studies, Curiculum Directors, Department Chairs, Principals, Literacy Coaches or Literacy Consultants

The Close and Critical reading framework provides students with instruction and practice in
· reading rapidly for major ideas, text composition and comprehension
· summarizing and restating
· analyzing text for rhetorical features
· critically reading to infer from and reason with the text
· Engage students in print
· Develop fluent scanning
