           Discovering Student Post-Secondary Education Support
An information filled in-service designed to enlighten high school special education transtion staff on how their students can successfully access and sustain post-secondary education at Macomb Community College (MCC). MCC and Michigan Rehabilitative Services (MRS) staff, and MCC Student Paenl will provide crucial information that will assist future students to successfully manage their post-school educational demands.
           Transition Planning Made Easier
The Michigan Department of Education and Michigan LearnPort, an online professional development portal for the K-12 community have partnered to develop several courses intended to help special education teachers meet IEP transition requirements. “Transition Planning Made Easier”, the first of these on-line courses, aims to assist educators in meeting the quality and compliance standards of SPP #13. Participants will attend full-day training while also completing the course. Each participant will receive .5 CEU’s and certificate of completion. Districts will be reimbursed for full-day substitute teacher pay for teachers taking the course.
