Task Rubric Training with Achieve
Session: 7572 Achieve will be hosting 2 days of professional learning to support teachers in implementing the new Iowa Science Standards. This session will focus on evaluating assessments for alignment to the standards. On Day 1, teachers will use the Achieve Task Screener to evaluate a common assessment task. On Day 2, teachers will use their deepened understanding of high-quality assessments designed for three-dimensional standards to evaluate the alignment of locally-developed assessments, including suggesting improvements to the tasks to meet their intended purposes. Following the 2 day session, participants will be expected to apply the tool to a task they used in the past year or will be using in the upcoming year and submit their annotated work. Educators in TLC roles are strongly encouraged to attend the session with teachers from their district. PREREQUISITE: Understanding of the structure and three-dimensional nature of the science standards is required. If you did not attend “Implementing the Iowa Science Standards-Year 1” please review these resources. Seeing Students Learn Science portions of this book will be used during the session.
