Foundations of Fractions


This course is open only to Bettendorf CSD staff, until 1/5/18. If spaces allows, other districts may join the course.

This course provides an opportunity to learn the fundamental mathematical progressions underlying studentsí understandings of fractions. Topics will include meaning of a fraction, equivalence & comparison, addition & subtraction, multiplication & division, and rate. Emphasis will be given to using student work to connect and extend thinking, and how to build procedural fluency for fractions once the conceptual understanding has been developed.

Registration closes 1/5/18. ALL participants must register, even those taking the course for audit.

Costs:
$35 for 1 Relicensure credit
no cost for audit
(This course is not offered for Drake grad credit.)
