The iPad has become a popular tool for students who are blind or who have low vision. However, few people realize the true potential of its use for these students. Tactile overlays incorporated with new features in iOS 9 can be a game changer for these students. This webinar will describe the best practices in making overlays including specific apps and their features, tools and materials, appropriate activities for the expanded core curriculum, new game changing features in iOS 9, and designing tactile electronic books. A plethora of examples will be shown.
● Participants will identify three specific features of applications that enable them to be appropriate for making tactile overlays.
● Participants will identify five basic tools that can be useful in making tactile overlays.
● Participants will provide 4 examples of activities using tactile overlays for various areas of the expanded core curriculum.
