District Challenging Behavior Training Project


This course is open only to North Scott CSD or Muscatine CSD staff.

This course will cover the basic principles of behavior, functional behavior assessment tools and effective interventions. Registration is restricted to staff comprising the North Scott Behavior Team and AEA staff that support North Scott. The course will focus on conducting a technically adequate Functional Behavior Assessment and matching behavior interventions to function. Each participant will be responsible for conducting a functional behavior assessment in their respective school with a case study student. Each participant will practice at preparation of procedures, data collection, running procedures, graphing data, data analysis and future assessment /interventions. Finally, each participant will be responsible for sharing their case example via a presentation to the group as a learning opportunity. Site Visits for year 2 will be developed and planned as part of the end of the year learning and May date.

$35 for 1 relicensure credit

CEUs: please check with your licensing agency to verify the appropriateness of course/workshop content. A CEU certificate will be provided after the completion of the course based on signed attendance logs. CEUs cannot be used to renew a teacher or para license.
