Sign Language Interpreters are faced with a unique challenge: they must render in their second language content in which they may or may not be well-versed. Teachers and other educational professionals receive content-rich training in academic subjects. Interpreters rarely have the opportunity to attend content-rich training with the addition of language-specific instruction in American Sign Language. This workshop will address this gap by providing both content-rich instruction in math and conceptually accurate renderings of mathematics concepts in ASL.
