Welcome to the AT Institute!
This is one of five courses designed around the topic of assistive technology and access to reading and writing.
The focus of this course is writing and assistive technology. This course will provide teachers and AEA staff with information and practice around the use of the SETT Framework, curriculum tree, ecological survey for AT use and accommodations, integration of AT, developing the role of paraprofessionals, reduction of prompt dependency, development of self-sustaining skills related to AT use and self advocacy, transition and transfer of AT between educational environments, responsibilities of the district related to provision of AT devices and services and resource information.
The five courses are designed as a combination of face to face and activities/assignments outside of the face to face time. There is one full day of attendance for each course. If you take the course for credit or CEUís, you will need to attend the session and complete the activities/assignments as indicated in the course syllabus.
