Participants in this three half-day workshop will receive a brief orientation to the Iowa Core English Language Arts Standards. They will deepen their understanding of the work of teachers and building/district leaders in implementing the Iowa Core ELA standards. This workshop is designed to clarify administrators’ roles as they lead this work and support teachers in their districts/buildings.

Goals:
1. Participants will gain an understanding of the history, development, structure and format of the Iowa Core ELA standards.
2. Participants will gain an understanding of how teachers implement standards-based lessons in a standards-based classroom.
3. Participants will deepen their understanding of their role as building/district administrators in leading and supporting this work
