Participants will examine the Iowa Core English Language Arts Standards by learning the history, development, format and structure of them. Participants will dig into the vocabulary and intent of the standards. They will unwrap standards and develop learning targets for selected standards. They will begin to explore the connection of standards to the classroom. There is a fee for materials. Attendance at both sessions is required.

Goals:
1. Participants will examine the Iowa Core ELA standards’ history, development, format, structure and key shifts.
2. Participants will learn how to unwrap standards and develop learning targets.
3. Participants will dig into the vocabulary and intent of the standards.
