Transitioning to Iowa Core Mathematics Grades K-2 MD & Geometry


To participate in this course, you must have completed Transitioning to Iowa Core Math Operations K-2 part 1.

Teachers will:
1. Deepen understanding of problem-based instruction vs direct instruction
2. Foster classroom discussions that include opportunities for student generalizing and justifying
3. Identify core ideas and align instruction and assessment to the core idea, especially sequencing student work for conducting a coherent summary aligned to the core idea

Registrations taken after the close date will be taken over the phone and charged a $25 late fee.

You will need the following book for this course that was used in TICM Operations K-2 part 1.

K: 11/5/14, 4/24/15
1st: 11/18/14, 4/20/15
2nd: 11/17/14, 4/1/15
August - April: minimum of 3 hours of coaching is required.

Costs:
$350 for 2 Drake graduate credits
$210 for 2 Relicensure credits
$10 for Audit - no cost/no credit option for course materials
