This course us open only to Davenport Community School educators.
To build coaching skills, analysis of diagnostic assessments, and targeted methodology for remediating deficits around Scientifically Based Reading Research for Davenport Community School District’s Reading Coaches and Reading Interventionists. The Instructional Coaching portion of this course based on Jim Knight’s Instructional Coaching model with supplemental information added from Hasbrouck and Denton’s The Reading Coach. Participants will leave with an increased knowledge and understanding of the Instructional Coaching philosophy, the underlying Partnership Principles, coaching in the context of understanding educational change, and the roles of both the instructional coach and the school leader. Additionally we will review administration and scoring procedures of DIBELS Next and to learn how to interpret DIBELS Next data and other informal and formative assessments to change reading outcomes, plan instruction, and evaluate individual and group progress
