Transitioning to Iowa Core Mathematics Grades K-2 Operations Part 2


Part 2 of this Transitioning to Iowa Core Mathematics Operations K-2 course will train teachers on assessing and remediating math concepts and math facts. Teachers will analyze student work to develop skill in identifying student misconceptions and to learn how to provide conceptual experiences to build understanding in Number and Operations in Base 10 and Operations and Algebraic Thinking domains. Some work and course materials are stored online so teachers should bring their laptops. A math notebook is required for this class.

Teachers should be familiar with the Standards for Mathematical Practice before beginning this course and must have completed Transitioning to Iowa Core Mathematics Operations Grades K-2 Part 1. You can register for Part 1 at:TICM Operations Grades K-2 Part 1

You will need the following book for this course that was provided in Grades K-2 Operations Part 1:
Teaching Student-Centered Mathematics K-2
Pearson Higher Ed or Amazon.com

Registrations taken after the the close date will be taken over the phone and charged a $25 late fee.
