The Different Learner: How to Differentiate Instruction in a Mixed-Ability Classroom 2nd Edition

This class is based on the book, How to Differentiate Instruction in Mixed-Ability Classrooms, Second Edition by Carol Ann Tomlinson. Participants will need to purchase the book at their local bookstore. The class will begin by discussing what differentiated instruction is and the rational behind it. It will then describe the role of the teacher in the differentiated classroom and how to prepare students and parents for such a classroom. Finally, the class will help prepare teachers as to how to plan lessons differentiated by readiness, interest, content and process.

The instructors will closely monitor student participation through log on time, the posting of assignments, and responding to teacher and student postings. Students can access the on-line class 24 hours per day from their computer. This will be a self-paced class. An instructor will contact you prior to the start date of the session.
