Effective Instruction for Adolescent Learners: Grades 6-12

This series of professional development workshops is designed specifically for 6th to 12th grade teachers who represent a cross divisional content team within their middle or high school. This is a two year commitment designed to provide participants with a variety of instructional strategies to deepen students’ learning through reading, writing, speaking, listening, and viewing as outlined in the Iowa Core Curriculum. to increase student learning, participants will receive tools and strategies to facilitate the integration of literacy. Teachers will apply their learning to both lesson and unit planning through the lens of their specific content.
