THEORY OF COACHING offers video segments that reveal
the differences in various levels of competitive sport. Presenters point out
the professional and personal roles all coaches must exhibit, and they offer
some practical advice about how to use these roles to make the sporting
experience a positive one for all.

Those who
enroll will receive a Study Guide with readings and activities that expand
concepts presented. There are no tests or final papers. Instead, there are
application assignments for each segment that require you to summarize, design
a plan or demonstrate comprehension of a new idea. Upon completion, your
coursework and videotapes or DVD should be sent immediately to Drake University’s Distance Learning Center for grading. Coursework in graded
continuously throughout the semester and is graded in the order in which it is
received.
