THE TEACHING COACH course work is valuable for those
who lead sports at any level. A series of professionally produced video
presentations address the following areas:
Coach/Athlete Relationships, Team Cohesion, Motivation for Peak
Performance, Goal Setting for Success, Anxiety in Sport Settings, Performing
Under Stress, Success and Failure in Team Sport, Controlling Aggression,
Presenting Staleness and Burnout.

Those who
enroll will receive a Study Guide with readings and activities that expand
concepts presented. There are no tests or final papers. Instead, there are
application assignments for each segment that require you to summarize, design
a plan or demonstrate comprehension of a new idea. Upon completion, your
coursework and videotapes or DVD should be sent immediately to Drake University’s Distance Learning Center for grading. Coursework in graded
continuously throughout the semester and is graded in the order in which it is
received.
