This course is provided to DCSD teachers who would like to learn how to use Technology in Education applications from an advanced standpoint. The goals of this course will be for learners to further their knowledge base and become proficient in advanced and new developments in tech-ed in order to effectively and efficiently organize and communicate information to teachers and to students. A basic understanding of access, development, and collaboration using Google Drive and Docs is required for this course.

          Bullet Interactive Smart Board Workshop
This workshop is for AEA employees only.

Come learn about the recently added hardware and software in the Dr. Yoder Room. This state-of-the-art equipment will allow you to truly make your courses or workshops interactive! The new equipment includes a Smart Board, Senteo Assessment System, Wireles Slates, Sympodium, Document Camera, and classroom amplification system.           Bullet iPads in the Classroom
This course is open only to the staff at All Saints Catholic School, Davenport.

The iPad in the Classroom Course is designed to teach participants how to meaningfully integrate an iPad into their classroom to reinforce 21st century learning in all subjects. Participants will learn how to use the iPad as a tool to collaborate, remediate, problem-solve, assess, and communicate to further the 21st Century learning of their students. Participating teachers will develop a specific plan for integration of the iPad into their teaching based upon material they are teaching. The goal is for each teacher to leave the course prepared to effectively implement the use of an iPad in their classroom as a multi-faceted teaching & collaboration tool.

          Bullet Picture Books Using Technology
This course will help educators to plan for using literature and picture books using technology tools. They will learn how to use digital storytelling software and explore more technology uses in the areas of reading, language arts, and writing.
Students will benefit from the high quality children’s literature used in the curriculum by their teachers. Everyone will also learn to appreciate literature and understand that picture books are a part of life-long learning.

No previous information or background is required. There will be options for both beginner and advanced learners.

          Bullet Blended Learning with Moodle

This course will support teachers in creating their own blended Units/Courses in Moodle for their 5 -12 students. Traditional hands on guided learning will be blended with online learning opportunities and the use of virtual meetings (via Zoom) for class discussions and sharing.

          Bullet Blending/Flipping Your Classroom

This course is meant to deepen your learning around blended and flipped classroom models. The first part of our online course looks at specific examples of blended learning and key components of teaching in such a manner. Throughout all of the coursework, directions are available in an online platform. The pacing guide below set specific deadlines, to ensure time for required feedback and collaboration within the groups. This is not about a specific Learning Management System (LMS) but instead about the pedagogical changes and tools needed to blend or flip your content.

This is the first course in a series of four that focuses on Blending/Flipping your classroom. By registering for this course, you will be a part of a "cohort" of teachers in the MBAEA region who also take the course. The second course in the series is completely online and will be offered in July of 2017 (dates to be determined). The third course is blended (face-to-face and online) and will be offered in the fall of 2017. The fourth course in the series will be offered during the winter of 2017-18.

The goal of this session is to empower teachers to effectively integrate technologies in their classrooms to engage students and improve achievement.

A series of unique professional development opportunities occurring throughout the school year, planned and presented by DCSD teachers and other technology leaders.

Sessions will focus on major areas of interest in current technology topics in the district. To earn credit, participants will complete at least 15 hours of training and an additional 30 hours of outside class work.

          Bullet Differentiation through Technology

This course will help educators learn about what differentiation is and how to incorporate it into their classroom settings. The educators will plan for differentiation in their classroom and subject area that incorporates technology. The educators will find specific websites that will be used in a filamentality website that they design to fit their individual student´s needs.

          Bullet Google Classroom: 21st Century Learning Design
This course is for Bettendorf Middle School employees only.

If you did not, then welcome to a two day learning experience that will get you brought up to speed with all the amazing tools at your fingertips that can streamline your learning as well as your students. The beauty of Google and many other platforms is that there is unlimited opportunities to use third party tools to create an online space that is perfect to your classroom environment. The purpose of this workshop is to learn how teachers use Google Classroom in their classrooms. Additionally, we will be pushing the boundaries of the tool to explore how we can personalize the experience to push learning to the next level using 21st century learning design.           Bullet Verizon Mobile Learning Academy

This training is only for Davenport Community Schools teachers.

This course is designed to provide an overview of what mobile learning is to help unravel the term and actual classroom implications. This is followed by activities designed to allow you to determine the readiness of an establishment for a mobile learning initiative. ISTE’s Essential Conditions are used to support a thorough evaluation of the implementation site. Findings will be crafted into a presentation to highlight areas of strength, as well as those areas of weakness. This is followed by a more in-depth Assignment to answer some crucial questions related to the actual workings of a site that has or is adopting a mobile learning initiative. This course will provide you with a springboard of information and ideas to ensure your mobile learning initiative is a successful one.

This course is developed around ISTE’s Standards. This includes a strong emphasis on Teachers (ISTE Standards-T), Administrators (ISTE Standards-A), and Technology Coaches (ISTE Standards-C). These standards are woven throughout the activities in this course.
