January 18 - February 12, 2010. The INTRODUCTION to this Child Welfare and Attendance module will examine the role the supervisor of CWA plays in the prevention of student dropouts. The study and solution of student dropouts will be reviewed. Identifying effective programs and services to meet the changing needs of students and families and determining ways and methods that school systems are using to prevent dropouts from occurring will be examined. These methods will be examined in depth as well as understanding how school personnel and services can deter student dropouts is a focus of this module.
