January 18 - February 12, 2010. The INTRODUCTION to Child Welfare and Attendance module will develop an understanding of Louisiana federal statutes to enable the CWA Supervisor to perform his/her duties within the scope of the law and according to established state/federal guidelines. The module will analyze, interpret and apply landmark case laws in public education. It will demonstrate knowledge of the basis of due process and its role in public/private schools. The module will help the student become knowledgeable about day-to-day concerns/issues in school settings; ie, custody, FERPA, school searches, and FINS.
