Bridging the Gap: Universal Design for Learning

The Louisiana Department of Education, through the Division of Leadership and Technology is offering, Bridging the Gap through Universal Design for Learning - UDL Math. This is an online course.


We will offer the 6-week online course which is designed to focus on the use of technology to support learning mathematics, following principles and standards recommended by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. Participants will learn ways in which activities could be modified and improved, based on principles of UDL. Who can register? Individuals: Individual educators, therapists, coordinators and program specialists working in a Louisiana public school system may register for the course.

Those registering as an individual will be assigned to a team following registration.

The course will consist of reading assignments, weekly activities, a discussion forum and a group project. Participants must have Internet access and an active e-mail account. All communications will be submitted through e-mail.

Participants completing the course will receive
* 30 continuing learning units (CLUs) contingent upon district approval.
