Crisis Intervention in Schools - Lafourche Parish Day 2 - 5.6.09

This training is designed to inform School-Based Personnel and community Liason Personnel on the many different presentations of psychological distress and teaches ways in which to help children, as well as, how to recognize if more professional help is needed. The training will begin with an overview of trauma in school children and include: Trauma symptoms; Risk factors; Protective factors; Providing support for parents and kids; Dealing with anger; and Pshychological First Aid. The training will also include segments on psychiatric interventions and medication management in schools.
