The Preschool Programs Section of the Office of Literacy and Numeracy is delighted to announce its Preschool and Kindergarten Conference for 2010. This conference is designed to help meet the professional development needs of teachers, teaching assistants, and administrators working in preschool and/or kindergarten programs and early childhood settings for children with disabilities. The theme of the conference this year is “Color My World.” Please join us and explore ways to make quality early childhood education developmentally appropriate and accessible for all children. Inside are just a few of the possible topics that will be addressed at the upcoming conference to be held January 12-13, 2010, at the River Center in Baton Rouge.

The intent of this workshop is to explain the purpose and procedure of the Early Childhood Environmental Rating Scale-Revised Edition. It will also include any changes or revisions for the upcoming school year. The session is designed to help all early childhood programs meet the requirements of the state in providing a program that is developmentally appropriate for our three to four year olds. New teachers and paraprofessionals will find this session very helpful.
