Pre-requisite: You must be a Jordan School District teacher to register for this class. This class will review the content of the PRAXIS II Principles of Learning and Teaching (PLT) test to help Level 1 teachers prepare to pass the test and complete the USOE EYE requirement for a Level 2 license. NOTE: This is not a preparation class for any of the PRAXIS II content tests. This class will use the text, Pass the Praxis II Principles of Learning and Teaching Test by Christina Shorall – ISBN # - 0-13-218766-3. Copies of this text will be available for participant use during the class. If participants would prefer a personal copy, the book can be purchased from any bookseller.

This course is designed to provide support for teachers who have received a JSD National Board scholarship and are candidates for National Board Certification. Candidates working on videotaped entries #2 and #3 are required to video tape that instruction. This course, taught by a National Board Certified Teacher, will help candidates plan, videotape and analyze instruction and student learning s required by the National Board portfolios. The foundation for this course is the five National Board Core Propositions and individual certificate standards.

This course will go over many, varied and unusual ways to incorporate creative thinking skills into you curriculum. Using Multiple Talents, Thinking Hats, and other models, participants will walk away with many ideas to encourage creative thinking in the classroom, thus increasing students’ abilities to think outside the box. These skills will lead to increased achievement throughout all subjects.
