Instructional Strategies that Work....No....Really!
Providing quality instruction for all students from the most accomplished to the most challenged is the goal of every educator. This course is designed to provide participants with instructional strategies that meet all students’ needs at all grade levels. Emphasis will be placed on the misconceptions of failure, as well as on effective instructional tools and other research-proven instructional strategies that enhance and improve student performance in all content areas. Included in the workshop will be presentations on background knowledge, judicious review, conspicuous strategies and strategies integration, among others. This 10-hour workshop will be offered in 5, 2-hour sessions over 10 weeks, so that, to paraphrase researcher Robert Givers, “Learn it…practice it…reflect on it.” (AFT ER&D workshop) NOTE: Session II meets for 2 hours per week for 5 consecutive weeks.
