Current Fiction for Children and Young Adults

This course will focus on current fiction titles with contenet appropriate for extended class lessons. Selected books mau be suitable for Grades 2-9. curriculum connections will be suggested and discussion ideas presented. These works will give attendees a sense of what authors and youth are addressing in today´s literature, some of which may become tomorrow´s classics. These performance standadrs will be addressed: E1a, E1b for Reading; E2b for Writing; and E5a for literature as well as character-ed and historical fiction. Hand-outs with book lists will be provided.
