Effective Use of Teacher Assistants in Inclusive Classrooms

The roles and responsibilities of teacher assistants are changing and can be confusing, especially in inclusive classrooms. The goal for this workshop is to assist teachers and teacher assistants to clarify their roles and responsibilities, understand new guidelines for instuctional teams from Rhode Island Department of Education, and guidance from IDEA and NCLB. Presentation will involve discussion, activities, handouts, and recommendation for more effective use of teacher assistanst in inclusive classrooms, K-12.
