Workshop Discription:New demand in the
work force include an application of skills rather than competition among grades. In other words, what skills does
easch student own. " No child left Behind"
mandates that states and districts are required to report student proficiences of standard rather than just number or letter grades. In this workshop you will
gain an understanding of a standards based
grading system as we look at coursework assessment with the end in mind. The creation and implementation of rubrics will be discussed as well as formative and summative assessment. We Will discuss
and compare standards based grading and traditional grading methods.
AUDIENCE: Middle School Teachers.
