           CSI-Curriculum Strategies for CI Classrooms [A]
This workshop will focus on topics important to being an effective classroom teacher working with students with cognitive impairments. Teachers will work in learning communities representing the grade levels they teach and will be introduced to activities and strategies that can directly impact their curriculum.
           Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training [A]
NVCI is a one day training designed to teach methods for defusing disruptive and assaultive students in a safe, non-harmful way.
           Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training (NVCI) **REFRESHER COURSE** [A]
NVCI Refresher Programs are offered to those who have received training in the past year. Discussions on intervention strategies, specific behavior interventions, and/or practice of physical techniques will be reviewed.
           Secondary Special Education Teachers´ Network Meetings [A]
This ongoing professional learning community is for middle & high school special education teachers. These meetings will provide networking opportunities, updates, & showcase activities and initiatives impacting special education students in Jackson County. Teachers will have the opportunity to network and share ideas. Please note that you will need to register for each session individually.
           Speech & Language Services in Today´s Schools: Michigan´s Revised Guidelines [A]
Many changes in federal laws and state practices in schools have impacted the services of all school staff, especially speech pathologists. This workshop will explore the revised suggestions for speech and language practices. Find out more about how early intervening strategies and Response to Intervention (RTI) can be applied to speech and language services. Learn how SLPs provide curriculum-relevant assessment and intervention practices within the context of the curriculum. Tools to support this process will also be explored.
