The workshop, The Kidtools System Software: Self-Management, Problem Solving, Organizational and Planning Tools for Children is for Parents, Administration, Guidance Counselors, General and Special Ed-elem-high school, SLPīs, Psychologists, Social Workers, and agencies.
This training will provide participants hands-on training in the use of free software to support students with and without disabilities in inclusive settings. The software provides research-based tools supporting behavior, academics, and transition skills with easy-to-use templates that students can learn to complete independently.
The KidTools System is available for free download on the web and includes tools designed for elementary students aged 7-10 (eKidTools and eKidSkills), intermediate students aged 11-14 (iKidTools and iKidSkills), and secondary students (StrategyTools).
Participants will
- Explore the different families of tools
- Practice using the tools with typical case students
- Plan how to implement the tools with their own students
- Brainstorm additional tools or adaptations to support the particular needs of students on the spectrum
