Technology (Su09): Writing and Publishing for an Authentic Audience - 859-902
In the not too distant past, pen pals were the choice option for giving students the experience of ´authentic´ writing. Web 2.0, however, has brought forward a dramatic change in how we write for different ´authentic´ audiences. Students already write frequently on personal websites and webpages, and now teachers can start to leverage a number of tools that are out there to give students a place to publish writing for the world to read. From opinion sites that ask you to ´take a stance´ to writing book reviews on Shelfari, this session will give you ideas for connecting your content with a very real process of writing for an audience. Will your work be reviewed by others?
