           Austin 09-10 ESL Strategies/Thinking Maps
In this session you will learn strategies to help you adapt lessons you are already doing in class for you English language learners. Knowledge of thinking maps preferred. Please come with a lesson or TEK you will be teaching in the next couple of weeks. You will leave with “ready to go” , “use in class” ideas!
           Austin 09-10 GT Differentiation
ALL content area teachers will learn different strategies on higher level thinking strategies. The group will then break up into different content areas to learn specific strategies in their content area.
           Austin 09-10 GT Identification
Teachers will learn how to identify Gifted and Talented Students. Teachers will learn traits of gifted students and the procedure for nomination. Data will also be evaluated.
           Austin 09-10 Math PLC
Math teachers will analyze data based on district testing and create goals based on data. The teachers will also look at curriculum. Book study may also take place.

     Campus Staff Development Day Subcategory

           Austin 09-10 Staff Development Day
Faculty will particpate in learning about our community during the diversity training then the teachers will learn strategies on how to meet the needs of ESL and SPED students.
     Professional Development Subcategory

           Austin 09-10 CPS/Suicide
Counselors will cover CPS and Suicide related content and procedures. This training is REQUIRED for all new teachers and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for returning teachers. RETURNING TEACHERS IF YOU DO NOT ATTEND YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO DO ONLINE TRAINING.

Faculty will learn about diversity on our immediate community.
           Austin 09-10 Review 360 Training
Teachers will learn to use and implement district approved behavior monitoring system, Review 360. Bring lap tops, behavior and study skills IEP’s to session.
