Improving Content Area Reading

Most secondary textbooks are colorful and comprehensive, but many students are not able to read them effectively. In this series, teachers will learn strategies to help students develop the expository reading skills that will, in turn, enable them to master essential content. Participants will be given tools and activities to help their students organize information and access subject matter. Judith M. Smith, Ph.D. will facilitate this series designed for general education and secondary education teachers at the middle and high school levels.
