Nonviolent Crisis Intervention is a recertification course in crisis prevention for human service
providers. The 12-hour Nonviolent Crisis Intervention course must have been previously completed to
be eligible for recertification.This course emphasizes early intervention and nonphysical methods for
preventing or controlling disruptive behavior. Included are techniques for personal safety and
participative study of crisis prevention methods such as restraints, transport techniques, and team crisis
strategies.
