GCS-Right Start Mentoring Novice Teachers: The Ingredients for Success

Description:
Participants will be taught best practices for mentors who support novice teachers. Mentor roles (reflection, communication skills, observation, support, confidentiality) will be discussed and a coaching model will be used. This course will provide the NC 24 hour initial mentor training course requirement for first-time mentors.



Target Audience:
Career teachers seeking initial mentoring certification.



Learner Outcomes:
As a result of the course, participants will learn effective strategies to support novice teachers as they begin their teaching career.



Prerequisite:
Must have completed all BT requirements and hold a Standard Professional II license.
