Description:
This course is a self-paced, online writing assessment professional development course. It is an updated version of the NCDPI MOODLE provided for teachers last year. Teachers will complete two courses and receive 2 CEUs. A third course is added as a reference piece only. This course is designed to prepare teachers for the implementation of the North Carolina Writing Instruction System. The courses will focus on the instruction of writing, the assessment of writing, and the use of assessments to guide instruction.

Target Audience:
Principals,curriculum facilitators,3rd-5th grade teachers, and other teachers as deemed appropriate by principals.

Learner Outcomes:
Participants will learn how to: 1) encourage student writing in all content areas throughout the year, 2) encourage all teachers to focus on the writing process, 3) assess writing throughout the year, & use instructional feedback to develop instruction throughout the year.

Prerequisite:
1)You must be a principal,curriculum facilitator,3rd-5th grade teacher, or other teacher as deemed appropriate by the principal.2)You must have a username & password assigned to you.
