Description: Adopted from the Clark University Teacher Education program, the Rounds Model of Professional Development is based on medical school rounds and adapted for use in education. The model requires a teacher to prepare background information about the lesson and class dynamics prior to hosting a group of visiting teachers in his or her classroom. The visit is followed by a reflective dialogue among the participants focused on student learning. Discussion of rigor and relevance in student work is a part of our focus of the Rounds visits.
