    Google Docs is a free, web-based word processor, spreadsheet, presentation, and form application offered by Google. It allows users to create and edit documents online while collaborating in real-time with other users. Please bring documents (assignments, tests, surveys, etc.) on a flash drive or CD so you can add content to your Google Docs. A Google account is necessary, which is free.

    Wondering how this virtual globe thing can be used to enhance your math instruction? Google Earth is a great tool for teaching a variety of mathematical concepts (measurements, estimation, line graphs and volume) all grounded in real world applications.     We all have stories about the events, people and places in our lives. In this session teachers will create original stories that include text, photos, animation, audio and video. We will use technology tools to bring their stories to life. Story ideas can come from perosonal and family experiences, connections to other cultures, and reall or imaginary people, places or events

               Using Technology in Career Exploration
    This is a 1-day train the trainer workshop for GenNET Districts that will cover the interdisciplinary curriculum with performance-based assessments of technology knowledge and skills developed by Oakland Schools.
    The audience for this training should be teams of one Career Development Facilitator or Counselor and one Technology Teacher or Media Specialist supporting 6th-8th grades.
    The outcomes for this training are:
  • Explore how assessments of a student´s performance on the METS can be embedded in their learning
  • Experience lesson plans, performance assessments, rubric and resources for students in the modules
