Building Quality Assessments - Math
What do my students know? Which GLCEs have my students mastered? In which areas are my students weak? What do I need teach next? Have you ever found yourself pondering these questions about the students in your classroom. Creating and using high quality common assessments comprised of high quality assessment items can help provide teachers answers to these and other questions about student achievement.
In this workshop teachers will learn to create high quality assessment items to be used in the creation of quarterly math exams. The quarterly math assessments will provide teachers with data on how well their students mastered GLCEs. Teachers will learn to use data gained from common quarterly assessments to tailor instruction to students learning needs and to improve curriculum coverage and delivery.
NOTE: Represented schools will have the opportunity to pilot quarterly math exams created as a result of this workshop.
