This course will provide valuable information on how you can de-escalate someone who is in crisis. Participants will build confidence and skills through exploration of verbal and nonverbal techniques, use of body language in approaching students, personal safety techniques, handling fear and anxiety and safe physical control techniques. Non-violent crisis intervention is a safe, non-harmful behavior management system that provides the best care, welfare, safety and security for all involved and fits the recommendations listed by MDE on Restraints and Seclusions.
