Making Connections-Algebra Readiness
Participants in this six part series, focusing on coherent mathematical sequecing and intervention support for Michigan Mathematics Focal Points and Benchmarks for the Critical Foundation of Algebra (Math in Action, February 2009), will receive:

  • Suggested instructional sequences

  • Training in evidence-based instructinal practices specific to students with disabilities and struggling students of mathematics

  • Intervention instructional materials

  • Diagnostic inventories.

    Materials will build from those provided by the Michigan Mathematics Program Improvement Grant (MMPI) and will be expanded to further support readiness for Algebra. Explicit connections will be made to Grade Level Content Expectations for Mathematics, QUILL IEP training, and Response to Intervention for Mathematics.
