Non-Violent Crisis Intervention: New User Training (Jan 2010)

This course will provide valuable information on how you can de-escalate someone who is in crisis. Participants will build confidence and skills through exploration of verbal and nonverbal techniques, use of body language in approaching students, personal safety techniques, handling fear and anxiety and safe physical control techniques. Non-violent crisis intervention is a safe, non-harmful behavior management system that provides the best care, welfare, safety and security for all involved and fits the recommendations listed by MDE on Restraints and Seclusions. Two training opportunities available! Teachers, Administrators, Support Staff, After-School Staff, Secretaries, Bus Drivers, and Itinerant Staff.

Already been trained in the two-day CPI New User Training but need to keep your certification up-to-date? Refresher training is needed every two years to maintain certification. Refresh your knowledge on how to de-escalate someone who is in crisis and practice hands-on techniques on how to safely handle someone who is physically acting out. Two training opportunities available! NO SB-CEUs AVAILABLE
