Audience: K-12 Teachers
Course Narrative:
Collaboration in districts is always a challenge! And, the understanding of standards and practical implementation is equally daunting.
In six sessions (and 10 hours of online interaction), this course will help districts identify staff who will work with administrators to be responsible for working with, updating and communicating effective uses of standards. As districts work toward their own alignment process, key people - Curriculum Chiefs - can be those points of contact who will develop, organize and maintain the documents produced within the district. Curriculum Chiefs will facilitate the district-adopted curriculum process within the district and guide it to a conclusion that provides direction to each teacher and raises student performance in each building.
Course Objectives:
Participants will learn how to develop a curriculum plan for their building/district. Understanding the theories behind curriculum mapping and assessment development, the district-identified "Curriculum Chiefs" will support their administration in developing a successful curriculum process that meets their needs.
