Audience: K-12 teachers
Course Narrative:
The most effective strategies are those which direct students toward a conclusion
and most often toward a successful assessment. What teachers use in the
assessment process is as important as what they use in the instructional process.
What standards do we use? What measurement do we use? How often do we
assess?
This class will utilize the theories and practical applications developed by Marzano and others, and will focus on the standards that lead to assessment. Teacher-leaders will work with the Pearson Assessment system to develop standards-based assessments for English Language Arts and Mathematics.
Course Objectives:
Participants will learn about effective assessments for students and will also learn effective ways of developing assessments by using the Pearson Benchmark system at BAISD.
