Course Narrative:
During this two hour session, we will look at the new writing task for the MEAP 2009. Participants will learn strategies to address nonfiction writing with lesson ideas and graphic organizers to use with students.

Course Objectives:
Participants will:

• Learn about the new writing task for 4th and 7th grade
• Learn classroom strategies to teach informational writing
• Create classroom writing prompts for informational writing
