Audience:
All ninth-twelfth grade TeachersCourse Narrative:
This workshop will focus on all the ninth through twelfth grade health themes in the Michigan Model, including the Tobacco Module, Nutrition, Physical Activity, Substance Abuse, Violence, and more.
Course Objective:
Participants will:
- Connect the implementation of school health education to Michigan’s Merit Curriculum Guidelines for Health Education
- Create an understanding of philosophy and goals of the Michigan Model.
- Develop a comfort level for using the curriculum manual.
- Disseminate current and accurate health content knowledge.
- Preview instructional materials used in the curriculum.
