SECURE CENTRAL REGISTRY
Michigan Department of Education Rolls Out SCR
Many don't know that the Michigan Department of Education uses a version of Coursewhere for the state-wide professional development credit approval system. The software allows the DOE to review and accredit SB-CEU courses in order to assure that standards are met throughout the State.
The catalog lists every approved course and allows an educator to easily find what she or he is looking for, and by clicking on a course, is able to visit the sponsor's web site to register.
With the recent release of the new Secure Central Registry (SCR developed by Solutionwhere), the State DOE is now asking sponsors of those approved courses to upload rosters of attendees. Once a roster is received, the SCR notifies each attendee that an on-line evaluation needs to be completed as a final requirement for credit.
Attendees now have one location to view official transcripts and print out certificates regardless of where credits were earned, sponsors workload has been greatly reduced, and the state DOE has a comprehensive source for all official PD credits earned by educators. Both the DOE and the sponsors get immediate feedback as to the effectiveness of PD offerings.

EASY UPLOAD TO THE MICHIGAN SCR
Coursewhere makes it easy to upload SB-CEU course roster to the secure central registry!
With Coursewhere you have always been able to record your course attendance for State Board Certified Education Unit (SB-CEU) courses, but now, you can also easily upload that information to the Michigan Secure Central Registry.
All Michigan Coursewhere users will automatically find this new link under the report category of the administration control panel.
How it Works:
- Step 1: Record attendance for a SB-CEU session as usual
- Step 2:
Select the course session and create the SCR upload file
- Step 3: Save the file to your hard drive
- Step 4: Upload the file to the Michigan SCR
With the new system you can even add attendees to a session's SCR-upload file that has already been uploaded to the SCR.
